Powerful, silly, scare, cute... The range of possibilities when shooting wildlife is the reward, to a very challenging subject.

Creepy, crawly, buzzing, and humming. We swat, smash, and zap these little critters. Here's a chance to get close and see the detail we're otherwise too anxious to enjoy (appreciate?)

Everything is as you expect it, until you look closer. Macro, to me is awe inspiring. However complicated our lives feel at a human scale, that complexity is repeated when you zoom in.

Infrared photography was a paradigm shift for me. It's literally capturing a part of the spectrum that we are not privy to, and shifting it over for our viewing. There is emphasis and contrast, often where there is usually noise. I love being surprised finding what works, and doesn't work, in the infrared.

The world is a busy place, not because there are so many of us, but because we are so focused on all we need to do individually. Street photography reminds me to look around and appreciate the other people and what they are doing.
